Coastal Areas

A yellow level 2 warning for damaging winds and waves has been issued along the coastline between Saldanha Bay and Cape St. Francis. Seafarers navigating these treacherous waters will face challenges. In addition, severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, excessive lightning, and small hail threaten to damage infrastructure in the West Coast, Cape Winelands Districts, and Laingsburg Municipality of the Western Cape.

Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal

The Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast and southeastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal will face disruptive rain causing challenging driving conditions and localised flooding. A yellow level 1 warning is in place for disruptive rain between Cape St. Francis and Port Edward, indicating troubled roads, low-lying areas, and bridges.

Northern Cape

The northwestern and northeastern regions of the Northern Cape face extremely high fire danger conditions, while a cut-off low-pressure system is expected to impact the Western Cape, Namakwa District (Northern Cape), and Eastern Cape until Wednesday. Cold, wet, and windy conditions are anticipated, with possible snowfalls on mountain tops.

Province Wise

Gauteng province experiences fine and cool weather, with a high UVB sunburn index. Mpumalanga enjoys fine, cold to cool temperatures, with warmth in the Lowveld. Limpopo’s climate is fine, with cool to warm temperatures.

North West province is windy and fine, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west, while Free State witnesses morning fog patches, partly cloudy skies, and isolated showers, and thundershowers in the west. Southwestern parts of Free State will experience windy conditions.

The Western Cape

The Western Cape will be cloudy and cold to cool, with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.

The Eastern Cape

In the Eastern Cape, the western half sees cloudy and cold temperatures with widespread showers and thundershowers, while the eastern half has isolated showers and thundershowers in the northeast. Wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal

Finally, KwaZulu-Natal’s forecast includes morning fog, partly cloudy skies, and isolated showers and thundershowers in the south and east. The extreme southeast can expect scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers. Coastal regions will have moderate winds, with high UVB sunburn index.
