A Must-Attend Concert for the Inaugural Netball World Cup Fan Park

The Netball World Cup Fan Park is gearing up for its grand opening, marking the first time the event will be held on African soil. The City of Cape Town is setting up a one-of-a-kind experience for sports enthusiasts just outside the Convention Centre.

Location and Dates

The Fan Park will be located on Walter Sisulu Drive between Heerengracht and Buitengracht streets and will run from 28th July to 6th August 2023.

Spectacular Concert

To kick off the Fan Park, the City is hosting an exciting concert on 26th July 2023. The five-hour concert will feature South Africa’s top musical talents, including Nasty C, Simmy, Goodluck, Emo Adams, DJ Grant Lesch, and Kurt Darren.

A Festive Environment for Everyone

The Fan Park is open to the public free of charge, and the City encourages everyone in Cape Town during the tournament to visit, even if they don’t have tickets for the games inside the CTICC. City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith, emphasized that the Fan Park is for everyone, bringing people from different backgrounds together to share in the excitement.

Action-Packed Activities and Delicious Treats

In addition to daily live entertainment, the Fan Park promises a Food Court with outdoor seating, snacks, hot beverages, and a beer garden. Local mural artists will also transform the Lower Loop Street pavement into a netball-themed masterpiece, inviting the public to contribute to the art piece by joining the artists in painting the pavement.

Opening Hours and Dates

The Fan Park will open daily from 07:00, closing after the final match of the day. The Netball World Cup will take place from 28th July to 6th August 2023.
