Cape Town will host a four-night Michael Jackson tribute show titled “Beat It – The Incredible Story of Michael Jackson” from the 12th to the 15th of July. The show features South African entertainer Dantanio Goodman, the Jo Jackson Dance Co, and Daphne Jubber Studio of Dance. The production is a blend of narrative and performance, aiming to reveal the man behind the iconic gloves, fedoras, and lavish costumes.
Dantanio Goodman, a South African singer and entertainer, has gained international recognition for his uncanny resemblance to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Goodman has traveled worldwide to perform his one-of-a-kind tribute act. He has performed in London, the United States, Bahrain, Kenya, and Berlin, where he was invited to perform for Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s older brother.
Goodman’s dedication to mastering every nuance of Jackson’s trademark dance techniques paid off when he was recognized for his performance in “The Michael History Show” for Showtime Australia. Today, he is considered one of the world’s best Michael Jackson tribute artists.
“Beat It – The Incredible Story of Michael Jackson” is an immersive experience that showcases the life and career of the beloved pop star. The production features Amyoli Mnqojana and Kirt Ruiters, who share the leading role of Michael Jackson. Jo Jackson and Daniel Anderson direct the show, while Hannah Moerdyk, Kay Mosiane, and Anderson himself provide narration.
The show’s musical component is brought to life by an all-star live band, skillfully directed by Jacques Du Plessis. The production promises to be a rare glimpse into the world of the King of Pop, featuring captivating storytelling, top-notch performances, and mesmerizing dance routines.
