North West Acting Premier Patrick Dumile Nono Maloyi is leading an initiative to enhance service delivery in the province. The Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole, launched in Mamusa Local Municipality, aims to involve communities in addressing the service delivery issues faced by the region. This program will be implemented across four districts, emphasizing community involvement and feedback on service delivery progress.
The initiative aims to establish a transparent platform to inform communities about the government’s progress in response to their demands. Provincial government departments and State-Owned Entities will collaborate to provide services to the local residents, ensuring their needs are met effectively and efficiently. Key stakeholders from various political backgrounds will actively participate in service delivery activities, encompassing waste management, infrastructure, agriculture, and small business enterprises.
The activities include clearing of illegal dumping sites, fixing internal roads, patching potholes, ensuring business compliance, providing veterinary services to local farmers, distributing agricultural produce to beneficiaries, and registering Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises.
To promote transparency and accessibility, community engagement activities will be live-streamed on the Office of the Premier’s digital platforms. This will enable community members who cannot attend the events to stay informed about the progress of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole and the services provided to their communities.
The program’s launch event was held at the Bokfontein Community Hall, emphasizing the government’s commitment to bringing essential services closer to the people. The program seeks to empower the residents by involving them in the process and creating a sense of ownership and responsibility for the development of their communities.
The Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole demonstrates the government’s dedication to addressing the concerns of its citizens and ensuring their voices are heard. This initiative will not only improve infrastructure and services but also foster a stronger bond between the government and the communities it serves.
The Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole, led by Acting Premier Nono Maloyi, is a positive step towards enhancing collaboration between the government, State-Owned Entities, and local communities. As the program is rolled out across the province, it will contribute to the development of a more inclusive and transparent system of governance that is responsive to the needs of its citizens. With continued efforts and open communication, the communities in the North West Province will undoubtedly thrive and enjoy a higher quality of life.
