Africa Padel Celebrates Women’s Month with North vs. South Tournament

Africa Padel, the top padel operator in the country, is gearing up for an exciting North vs. South Tournament on August 13th. The event, set in the picturesque V&A Waterfront, aims to celebrate Women’s Month by highlighting the prowess of female padel players and their contributions to the sport. The tournament promises nail-biting matches, live performances, and a generous prize pool of R60,000.

Padel: A Combination of Tennis and Squash

Padel is a captivating fusion of tennis and squash played on a smaller court and enclosed by glass panels and metallic fencing. This predominantly doubles sport borrows rules from tennis, such as serving into designated blocks and using the same point system. It also integrates elements of squash, allowing players to capitalize on glass panels and metallic fences during gameplay.

Africa Padel: Leading the Padel Community

Africa Padel has an impressive network of 14 clubs and 62 courts, making it the top padel operator in the country. The company aims to expand to 22 clubs and almost 100 courts by the end of 2023. Africa Padel’s website showcases their extensive network of clubs, demonstrating the vibrant padel community they have cultivated. The sport provides a platform for social interaction and remains accessible to players of various ages and abilities.

North vs. South Tournament Celebrating Women’s Month

Africa Padel invites female players from across the nation to participate in the North vs. South Tournament in honour of Women’s Month. The finals will take place on August 13th at the V&A Waterfront courts. The tournament will feature A, B, and C teams from Cape Town and Johannesburg, the cities where padel has experienced a popularity surge in recent months.

Africa Padel has also arranged coaching sessions for 50 female players at the V&A Waterfront, starting at 8 am. Following the coaching session, a community tournament for the participants will ensue at 10 am, providing an excellent opportunity for players to apply their newfound skills. The main event, commencing at 2 pm, will showcase A, B, and C teams from the North and South regions vying for victory.

Live Music, Pop-up Stores, and Exciting Snacks

Aside from thrilling matches, attendees can enjoy live music, pop-up stores, brand activations, and a tantalizing array of snacks and food. Refreshing beverages will also be available to maintain high spirits throughout the day.
