This dynamic event encompasses a variety of couch sessions, workshops, performances, and studio sessions. These will be hosted in the vibrant cities of Cape Town and Johannesburg from the 23rd to the 26th of May.

Yvette Griffith, the CEO and Executive Director of Jazz re:freshed, expressed her fervor about the project. She explains this landmark as a stimulating and critical progression in their 20-year voyage as a diaspora-based Black-led music organization. Setting out on this journey with a sense of pride, they join hands with the South African pioneers of Jazz and The Dig, whose contributions they profoundly admire. Unraveling the Talents

The AfroDiaspora Connection’s inaugural performance will take place in Cape Town, showcasing the gifted Kozo Zwane and the local Afro-jazz artist Kujenga. Subsequently, in Johannesburg, the multi-award-winning Durban-born trumpeter, Ndabo Zulu, and the innovative vocalist from Soshanguve, Thandi Ntuli, will captivate the audience on the 26th of May.

Let’s delve into a sneak peek of the event schedule. A couch session will kick start the event on the 23rd of May at the Gorgeous George Hotel from 7 pm to 11 pm. The primary event in Cape Town will ensue on the 24th of May at the Youngblood Africa Gallery. The event will then shift to Johannesburg on the 26th of May, taking place at the Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct from 12 pm to 10 pm.
