Located in the picturesque Bot River area, the Beaumont Family Wines is a family-owned farm that offers a unique getaway for those looking for a relaxing experience. The farm is home to three generations of the Beaumont family, all actively involved in farming, beekeeping, winemaking, and cooking up a storm in the warm and inviting farm kitchen. The warm and welcoming atmosphere invites you to relax and unwind while enjoying the stunning views of the undulating hills and valleys of the Overberg from the shaded restaurant terrace.
Raoul and Jayne Beaumont purchased the farm in 1974 and have since transformed the property by pursuing beekeeping, cultivating vineyards, and restoring the oldest wine cellar in the region and the ancient water mill. Sebastian and his wife Nici have taken over the running of the farm, continuing the legacy of creating finely crafted wines that are full of character.
Sebastian’s deep understanding of the vineyards makes him a knowledgeable winemaker who intuitively understands the cultivars that flourish on the farm. As a result, Chenin Blanc and Pinotage are standout wines, and the wine-tasting experience is personal and unintimidating. Guests are considered the best wine critics, and there are no pressures to like wine; you either do or don’t.
Zest Deli & Kitchen is the farm’s restaurant serving delicious farm-to-table dishes that will leave your taste buds wanting more. The restaurant is known for its mouth-watering tarte flambée, duck spring rolls, paneer, tomato, spinach curry, and Kalahari beef burgers. The meals can be enjoyed inside the whitewashed, prettily tiled deli or outdoors under the oaks on the terrace next door to the tasting room. The burnt Basque cheesecake with sour cherry compote is a must-try dessert, and the deli shelves are packed with good farm food, cheeses, charcuterie, home-baked rusks, and preserves.
Visitors can buy a cooler bag and fill it with a stash of Zest frozen meals such as lamb-and-fig tagine, beef lasagne, coq au vin, butter chicken, lentil moussaka, and many more, making it the perfect spot for a picnic.
Take a peaceful stroll or bike ride on the farm’s scenic trails after a sumptuous farm meal. Visitors can stay at The Pepper Tree Cottage, equipped with all the necessary amenities and a breathtaking view of the farm.
