The competition will take place from July 28 to August 6, 2023, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). As the teams arrived in Cape Town, they immediately began their rigorous training sessions. The top-ranked nations – Australia, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, and South Africa – are all vying for the title.
South African team, the SPAR Proteas, is considered one of the strong contenders for the championship. They have the added advantage of home ground support, and they are set to face Jamaica, Wales, and Sri Lanka in the preliminary stages. Their matches are scheduled for July 28, 29, and 30.
In celebration of this historic event, Cape Town is hosting a Netball World Cup Fan Park located on Walter Sisulu Avenue. It offers a free, day-long experience for netball enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike. The fan park is open from 7:00 am until the end of the final game of the day.
Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting this landmark event. Smith welcomed all participating nations and wished them success as they compete and contribute to the growth and legacy of netball.

In light of this monumental event, several roads will be closed from July 21 to August 7, 2023, affecting traffic flow in the Central Business District. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. Walter Sisulu Avenue, in front of the CTICC, will be closed to traffic from July 25 until August 7.
