Research indicates that job hunting, inclusive of tasks such as identifying potential openings, preparing and printing resumes, and transportation for submission of applications or attending interviews, can result in a monthly expenditure of up to R1,500 for an unemployed individual in South Africa. By offering a cost-effective and streamlined application process via its digital platform, Jobs Connect effectively alleviates these stressors.
Jobs Connect’s platform is digital and can be accessed through a mobile phone or desktop, with data-free services available for MTN and Vodacom users. Users can create an online profile functioning as their digital CV, followed by a digital evaluation of their literacy and numeracy skills. The digital CV and certification of assessment can be downloaded for future reference. Until now, the platform has registered and assessed a staggering 97,982 individuals.
Post registration and evaluation, users have the liberty to peruse through various training and apprenticeship opportunities.
