DHL Stadium Hosts Semifinals of Vodacom United Rugby Championship

On May 13, 2023, rugby fans are eagerly anticipating the semifinals of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship at the DHL Stadium. The DHL Stormers will take on Connacht, the Irish rugby team. This exciting match comes after the Stormers’ impressive 33-21 victory against the Vodacom Bulls.

Massive Crowd Expected

During the Stormers vs. Bulls game, 44,106 rugby fans filled the stadium. A similarly massive crowd is expected for the semifinal match. Western Province Rugby and the DHL Stadium have put in place various road closures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for spectators, and attendees are encouraged to use public transport options.

Enhanced Match-Day Experience

Gates to the stadium will open at 13:30, well ahead of the 16:00 kick-off time. To enhance the match-day experience for fans, attendees can enjoy food, drinks, and the company of fellow rugby supporters. For entertainment, the popular on-site beer garden will be in full swing, accompanied by a Red Bull DJ before and after the match.

Special Ticket Rates and Fully-Inclusive Hospitality

DHL Stadium Commercial Manager Gina Woodburn has announced special ticket rates of R390 per person for seats situated on the West Stand’s halfway line, complete with cash and snack bar access. Fully-inclusive hospitality tickets are available at R1650 in the DHL Stadium Business Lounge for those seeking a more exclusive experience.

Parking and Transportation

Dedicated parking will be available in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) P1 parking area, the Civic Centre, and the stadium precinct. Additionally, free MyCiTi shuttles will transport ticket holders between the DHL Stadium and both the Civic Centre and Thibault Square and CTICC bus stations. Spectators utilizing e-hailing services are recommended to be dropped off and collected in the CBD at DF Malan Drive opposite the Artscape Theatre, Hertzog Boulevard, or Jan Smuts Street.

Exciting Semifinal Clash

With both teams poised and ready for the challenge, rugby fans can look forward to a day filled with high-octane action and entertainment at the DHL Stadium. Remember to leave your umbrellas at home, as they are prohibited within the stadium grounds. This semifinal showdown promises to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.
