The festival takes place in the tranquil winter months of Hermanus, originally conceived as a tourism-oriented event by Mary Faure, former chairperson of the Hermanus Tourism Bureau, to encourage visitors to spend more than one night in the area.

Honoring the FynArts Legacy Award Recipients

The FynArts Legacy Award is a prestigious honor given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the arts. Previous recipients include John Kani, Hugh Masakela, and David Kramer. This year, Pieter-Dirk Uys will receive the award.
