DJ Sophia: A Rising Star in South Africa’s Music Scene

DJ Sophia, a young and talented musician from South Africa, has already established herself as a prominent figure in the country’s music scene. At just nine years old, she is a resident DJ on GoodHope FM’s The Good Vibes Show with DJ Ready D. But her talents extend beyond music, as she recently demonstrated through her altruistic endeavors.

The Winter Drive for the Elderly

During the June school holidays, while her peers were indulging in leisurely pursuits, DJ Sophia organized a winter drive for the elderly. The event took place at Wraptors Cape Town in Blaauwberg Business Park, Milnerton, showcasing her dedication to giving back to the community. Rather than wasting her time playing games or glued to her phone, the young DJ mobilized her friends, family, and fans to donate blankets and non-perishable food items for senior citizens.

The Overwhelming Response

The winter drive garnered an overwhelming response, with a deluge of donations flooding in. DJ Sophia and her family personally delivered the collected items to Erica Place, the event’s chosen beneficiary. The spirit of generosity lingered even after the drive concluded, with additional contributions continuing to pour in.

A Dedication to Her Late Grandfather

This philanthropic initiative held deep personal meaning for DJ Sophia, as it was dedicated to her late grandfather, who passed away in April. The event brought together a diverse crowd, including car and bike clubs, all eager to contribute to the cause. DJ Sophia and her father, Ian Petersen, who is also a DJ, entertained the attendees with energetic beats and infectious melodies.
