Dr. Fezile Ngqobe Takes Over as Acting HOD for North West Social Development

In a recent announcement by the North West Acting Premier Nono Maloyi and MEC for Social Development Lazarus Mokgosi, Dr. Fezile Ngqobe has been appointed as the acting Head of Department (HOD) for North West Social Development. The appointment, effective from August 2, 2023, is a temporary lateral transfer of the current HOD, Relebohile Mafokane, to the Office of the Premier.

The Objective of the Lateral Transfer

The primary objective of this lateral transfer is to stabilize the Department of Social Development. The decision was made with no implications of wrongdoing on Mafokane’s part, and his terms and conditions of employment will remain unchanged throughout the transfer period.

Dr. Ngqobe’s Contributions

As a skilled and experienced professional, Dr. Fezile Ngqobe is expected to make significant contributions to the department in his new acting role.
