Looking for an unforgettable Easter weekend in the Paarl winelands? Rhebokskloof has got you covered! From 7 to 10 April 2023, the wine farm will host an array of unique events for the whole family, including classical concerts, Easter egg hunts, picnics by the lake and more.
On 8 April, the internationally acclaimed Schönbrunn Palace Symphony Orchestra of Vienna will perform a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor concert at Rhebokskloof. Families can enjoy a concert on the lawns by the lake, and there’ll be a special kids’ soft play area and movie screening. Guests can pre-book special Easter weekend picnics, or bring their own food. Food trucks and vendors will also be available.
Book for concert: R250, R150 for kids u/12, free for kids u/5. Book via Rhebokskloof’s website.
On 5 April, if you’re unable to attend the outdoor concert, or want to experience the orchestra in a more sophisticated setting, you can book for the Schönbrunn Formal Dinner and Ball. Guests will sit down to a 3-course meal with wine pairing and a live performance from the orchestra. This is a black-tie event with limited spots available.
Book for dinner: R1,500 at Rhebokskloof’s website.
The two live classical music concerts, along with the rest of the Symphony in Sea Major tour, will raise funds for the efforts of the Fire Island Conservation, an essential turtle nesting site in Mozambique. The project aims to educate locals about conservation issues and to rehabilitate and protect sea turtles.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Fire Island Conservation.
Kick off your shoes and have a picnic by the lake this Easter Weekend at Rhebokskloof. Share a basket or get an individual serving, including freshly baked baguettes, grilled chicken salad, salmon and cream cheese bagels, cured meats, cheese, crackers, homemade preserves, old-fashioned lemonade and Ouma’s classic cheesecake. There’s also a vegetarian and a kids’ option, with a chicken wrap, fruit salad, chocolate eggs, juice and chocolate chip biscuits. Picnics must be booked 24 hours in advance.
Book a picnic: R650 (serves 2), R425 (serves 1), R155 (kids) on Quicket.
On Friday, Sunday, and Monday, children can enjoy a play paradise while parents can enjoy all that the wine farm has to offer. There will be jumping castles and slippery slides, with face painting, a magic show, balloon modelling, and a petting zoo. Plus, kids get to meet the Easter bunny.
Book kids events: from R80; adults enter for free on Quicket.
Rhebokskloof’s Easter egg hunt is from 11 am to 12 pm throughout the weekend (excluding Saturday). The kids hunt for hidden chocolate eggs across the lawn, with the help and guidance of the Easter bunny, who will also stick around for a meet-and-greet and photos.
