Empowering Youth to Prevent Gender-Based Violence and Femicide: A Collaborative Initiative

To address the pressing issue of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), key stakeholders are coming together to host a collaborative webinar. The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), the Agape Youth Movement, and the conveners of Pillar 2 of the National Strategic Plan for the End Gender-Based Violence and Femicide are working together to educate young people on their role in preventing GBVF in their communities.

The Importance of the Initiative

The upcoming event, scheduled for July 25, 2023, aims to raise awareness and instill leadership values in the youth to prevent GBVF. This is a crucial initiative given the increasing prevalence of GBVF and the significant role young people can play in preventing future incidents.

Reaching a Wider Audience

The webinar, which will take place on the Zoom platform, is open to the media to increase awareness of the topic and the youth’s role in mitigating GBVF. The live streaming link on YouTube will enable those who cannot attend the event in person to participate.
