Experience Makers Landing’s Seafood Fest

If you are a seafood lover, you must visit Makers Landing, the V&A Waterfront’s food destination, for a fresh and sustainable seafood market experience. This event showcases all things seafood, celebrates small-scale fishers, and brings fresh fish to the public at the heart of the harbor.

A Seafood Feast Awaits You

At the Makers Landing Seafood Fest, visitors can expect a variety of sustainably sourced fresh fish that they can keep for home or use to make their next excellent seafood meal. You can learn to make the best-pickled fish with fisherwomen from Saldanha or make a seafood meal with Reuben Riffel. In addition, the fest features merchants serving various seafood, including vis & tjips, sushi, paella, and more.

Beyond the Blue

The incredible recipe installation showcases the stories of 17 ‘Beyond the Blue’ fisherwomen by Studio H and Plaas UWC. Beyond the Blue is a project that focuses on raising awareness about the role of women in small-scale fisheries and the challenges they face.

Seafood Talks

If you have ever needed clarification on whether fish is red, orange, or green listed, let’s talk about the fishing rights complexities at the seafood talks with a panel of experts from the food and fishery ecosystem.

Mark Your Calendars

The Makers Landing Seafood Fest takes place on April 1st and 2nd, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, respectively. The fest is at the V&A Makers Landing, The Cruise Terminal, V&A Waterfront.
