Explore the Gondwana Private Game Reserve on Foot: The Pioneer Trail

Gondwana Private Game Reserve, located in the Western Cape of South Africa, is an 11,000 hectare reserve that is home to the Big Five, including lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalos. On day two, visitors will embark on a 12km guided walk. The walk is designed to give visitors a chance to get up close and personal with Africa’s Big Five. There will be stops for freshly brewed coffee and snacks, as well as a packed lunch in the bush. Visitors will spend the night at Camp Mozambique, where they will enjoy a seafood feast for dinner.

Day 3: Camp Morocco

Day three of the Pioneer Trail will see visitors walking 8km before ending at Camp Morocco. This campsite is the most vibrant of the three campsites and features colourful draping and mosaic lights. Dinner will be served in the form of Moroccan tagines. Visitors will walk through a fynbos biome and may even see an elephant snacking on sugar bushes.

A Bush Baptism Experience with Luxury Amenities

The Pioneer Trail is a bush baptism of sorts, where visitors can be a part of nature and gain a real sense of respect for the environment. The experience is far beyond any blow-up mattress experience, with a king-sized bed and luxurious sheets to ensure a blissful rest.
