Free Health Services Offered in Mitchells Plain through Wellness Outreach Programme

Masjid Al-Khair in Weltevreden, Mitchells Plain, is set to host a wellness outreach programme on August 5th. The event is a joint initiative of three community organizations, namely Goodwood Islamic Society, Al Azhar Primary School, and Masjid Al-Khair. The mission of the programme is to promote community health and well-being by offering free health services to residents.

A Comprehensive Range of Health Services

The programme has engaged the services of 25 specialists who will provide a diverse range of health services. The team will offer blood pressure and blood glucose screening, paediatric consultations, dental services such as teeth cleaning and extractions.

There will also be therapy services available, including occupational and speech therapy, optometry, and audiology. Additionally, counsellors will offer emotional support, while biokineticists will assess any concerns related to movement or pain during activities. The programme will also feature consultations with natural medicine specialists, as well as breastfeeding and lactation assistance.

## A Commitment to Holistic Health

The wellness outreach programme is dedicated to holistic health and is a reflection of the commitment shared by the Goodwood Islamic Society, Al Azhar Primary School, and Masjid Al-Khair. It is designed to support community members facing challenges in communication, memory, reasoning, and everyday tasks.

An Invitation to Residents of Mitchells Plain

The organizers of the wellness outreach programme invite residents of Mitchells Plain to take advantage of the exceptional opportunity being offered. The event is scheduled to take place from 12 pm to 5 pm at Masjid Al-Khair, 1 Weltevreden Road, Weltevreden Valley. Organizers advise attendees to arrive by 10 am to ensure they can access all services.

The wellness outreach programme in Mitchells Plain is a testament to the power of collaboration among community organizations. It demonstrates the potential for such partnerships to bring about positive impacts on the well-being of residents. Parents planning to bring their children to the event should carry their clinic cards with them.
