Guardian Peak Winery & Grill: A Must-Visit Destination for Wine, Food, and Views

Guardian Peak Winery & Grill is a wine farm that offers breathtaking views of the Stellenbosch Winelands, with a backdrop of Guardian Peak and Jonkershoek mountains. It’s an ideal destination for a relaxed wine-farm outing, with enviable surroundings that create a perfect environment for enjoying fine wines, bistro-style cuisine, and stunning views.

Autumn Menu at Guardian Peak Winery & Grill

The autumn menu at Guardian Peak is worth a visit. The chef, Willie Mostert, is getting creative with venison sourced from a small, family-run business, Cape Venison. Grilled venison and apricot conserve sosaties with Cape Malay curry yogurt stars on the starters menu, bobotie spring rolls, creamy seafood curry, butternut, and goat’s cheese risotto. Next, try the grilled venison loin with cauliflower purée, fried polenta, sherry-braised pearl onions, and sultana-and-hazelnut chutney for mains.

Guardian Peak’s famous steaks also come highly recommended year-round. They also serve substantial salads, juicy burgers, lamb rogan josh, and roast pork fillet. A selection of desserts from the menu are:

  • The Amarula panna cotta.
  • Crème brûlée.
  • Dark chocolate fondant.
  • A lush pecan and caramel cheesecake.

Wine Cellar

The cellar is open daily for tastings (with platters), to purchase any of Guardian Peak’s everyday-drinking wines, and a selection from The Stellenbosch Collection. So you can relax on the terrace and soak up the views with a glass in your hand, followed by a memorable lunch or dinner.

Atmosphere of Guardian Peak Winery & Grill

Guardian Peak Winery & Grill is a hidden gem with a beautiful view of the mountains and vineyards. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service is friendly and competent. It’s an ideal destination for an above-average lunch or dinner.
