Horrific Gang Attack Leaves Eight Dead and Four in Critical Condition in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa

In recent years, the Mzunduzi Township in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, has been the site of several gruesome attacks, including a massacre that occurred last month. These attacks are believed to be related to gang violence in the area.

Details of the Attack

On Sunday night, seven armed men entered a house in Mzunduzi Township, looking for the owner. When they realized their target was not present, the attackers forced the occupants aged 25 and 46, to undress, doused them with petrol, and set them alight. Eight men lost their lives, four remain in critical condition, and three others sustained less severe injuries.

Police Investigation

South African Police (SAPS) responded to the scene and are conducting a massive search to locate the suspects responsible for this heinous attack. Drugs are suspected to have played a role in the incident.

Previous Attack

A month ago, gunmen shot ten family members, including a 13-year-old boy, in Imbali. In the attack’s aftermath, police arrested two individuals and recovered three firearms.
