The De Hoop Trail – Vlei to Whales offers a unique and immersive experience to explore this pristine reserve. William Stephens, owner of the De Hoop Collection, designed the trail to create an unforgettable walking experience for nature enthusiasts.

The Experience

Embark on a four-day and three-night fully-catered and guided tour where you will traverse roughly 38 kilometers of De Hoop Nature Reserve. You will unravel the natural and cultural history of the reserve with each step, accompanied by a qualified nature/marine guide. The guide will share their expertise and knowledge of the thriving marine, bird, and animal life in the area, as well as rare plant species.

The Accommodation

De Hoop Collection’s newest addition, De Mond Villa, is the primary accommodation for the De Hoop Trail experience. Recently restored and refurbished, the luxurious villa is perched on the edge of the Ramsar-listed vlei. It provides an exclusive and off-the-grid sanctuary where guests can indulge in a harmonious blend of authenticity, luxury, and comfort.

De Mond Villa features five en-suite bedrooms, Wi-Fi, and a private outdoor area complete with braai facilities and a swimming pool. The villa’s unrivaled vistas of the surrounding landscape offer a serene escape where guests can unwind and rejuvenate after a day spent exploring De Hoop Nature Reserve.
