Kaizer Chiefs Interested in Gabadinho Mhango Following AmaZulu Overhaul

Kaizer Chiefs, one of the prominent clubs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), is looking to enhance its roster, and the recent massive overhaul by AmaZulu has caught their attention. AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu announced the release of eleven players, and among the players on their radar is Gabadinho Mhango, a seasoned player who represented Pirates from 2019 to 2022.

Chiefs’ Interest in Mhango

Chiefs are interested in offering Mhango a season-long deal as they intend to bolster their options with experienced players like him. However, sources reveal that AmaZulu has decided to part ways with Mhango, and the club is focused on bringing in fresh talent from abroad, particularly those who made waves in the Caf Confederation Cup.

Mhango’s Decision

The potential short-term nature of the contract might deter Mhango from committing to Chiefs, especially with interest from Sekhukhune United also in the mix. Chiefs may need to assess their approach and possibly offer Mhango a more attractive long-term deal as they continue their quest for a skilled attacker.

Missed Opportunity with Khanyisa Mayo

In the past, Chiefs had expressed interest in Khanyisa Mayo, a talented forward whose name frequently appeared in transfer window speculations. However, Cape Town City extended Mayo’s contract until June 2028, affirming their desire to retain his services. Mayo’s father shared his thoughts on the missed opportunity, expressing that a move to Chiefs could have been favorable for his son.

With Cape Town City locking down Mayo and AmaZulu undergoing a significant transformation, Chiefs’ situation remains fluid as they explore options. The possibility of securing Mhango’s talents might hinge on the terms of the contract they propose. As the PSL continues to be a dynamic environment, it remains to be seen how all the pieces will fall into place for these clubs and their players.
