Lady Amelia Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece, has married Greg Mallett, the nephew of former South African rugby star Nick Mallett. The wedding took place in South Africa in secret. The couple, who first met at the University of Cape Town 14 years ago, flew to South Africa earlier this month to get married. The wedding was held in a “spectacular mountain-top ceremony near Cape Town.”
The wedding date of the 30-year-old couple from the UK was a mystery, and most media sources thought it would happen later this month. However, HELLO! magazine was the first to tell the world that the pair were married, and in its forthcoming issue, it will include images from the wedding.
Amelia, whose mother used to be a model named Victoria Lockwood, talked about why she wanted to get married in South Africa. “Growing up together here for the last 14 years, all of mine and Greg’s happiest times as a couple has been here,” she said. It means considerably more now.”
Greg, a fitness and nutrition coach, said, “I’ve been dreaming about seeing Amelia walk down the aisle for 14 years.”
Lady Kitty, Amelia’s older sister, was there, as were her twin sister Lady Eliza and her younger brother Samuel. Earl Charles Spencer, Amelia’s dad, was not in South Africa this week. In an interview last year, Amelia said, “Everything about Greg makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world,” Greg said, “I’ve always known I wanted to marry Amelia. Even though I was young when we met, I immediately knew she was the girl of my dreams.”
The couple, who got engaged in July 2020, had shared pictures of their pre-wedding celebrations in Cape Town on social media. Their friends and family congratulated them with warm wishes and heartfelt messages.
Congratulations to the happy couple on their marriage!
