Reflecting on Milestones

On her 55th birthday, Forbes reflected on her life and shared a photo from her 2018 Kilimanjaro summit. She expressed how the mountain taught her humility, patience, and gratitude, and how she felt detached from reality and yearned for a new adventure. She stated that “the mountain is calling, and I must go…to rekindle my spirit and nourish my soul.”

Pursuing a New Challenge

Forbes confirmed her intention to climb Mount Everest’s base camp through social media. This journey will test her mental and physical strength, with the famous peak located in the Himalayan mountains, straddling the China-Nepal border in Asia.

Invaluable Experience

Forbes’ experience climbing Kilimanjaro in 2018 will undoubtedly prove valuable for this new challenge. She was part of the Trek4Mandela Expedition, a group that tackled Africa’s highest mountain in Tanzania. Together, the climbers raised over R1 million ($70,000) to support charitable organizations focusing on disadvantaged schoolgirls in South Africa.

Determination and Bravery

Forbes’ upcoming venture to Mount Everest’s base camp is a testament to her determination and bravery. Although the exact timeline for this expedition is unclear, Forbes’ resolve to embrace the challenge is unmistakable.
