Former Orlando Pirates winger, Mahlatse Makudubela, has made a surprising move to Tanzanian side, Young Africans, after Marumo Gallants were relegated to a lower division.
Makudubela, born in Vosloorus, has played for Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates, gaining attention from local and international teams. He has joined Young Africans to challenge himself in a new football landscape and explore new opportunities.
Following the departure of many players from Marumo Gallants, Makudubela became a free agent and decided to join Young Africans. The winger turned down interest from Moroka Swallows for a fresh start in East Africa.
Other former Marumo Gallants players have also sought new opportunities, including Lucky Mohomi, who signed with Richards Bay, and Ranga Chivaviro, who joined Kaizer Chiefs, despite reports of him signing with Richards Bay. Other former Gallants players have found their way to top-tier clubs, such as Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Joining Young Africans not only offers Makudubela personal growth but also the opportunity to continue participating in continental competitions. He played a crucial role in Marumo Gallants’ run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals last season and hopes to build upon this experience with Young Africans.
Throughout his time in the South African football scene, Makudubela has been known for his mesmerizing skills, agility, and passion for the game. Joining Young Africans allows him to showcase his talents on a larger stage while experiencing the rich culture and history of Tanzanian football.
As Makudubela takes on the Tanzanian Premier League, fans eagerly anticipate the impact he will have on the league. With his undeniable talent and determination, he is poised to make his mark on the football world, one dynamic move at a time.
