Mastering the Art of Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Empowering Women in the Public Sector

The National School of Government (NSG) is proud to host a MasterClass on August 3, 2023, that will be led by Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. The MasterClass is a program designed to empower women in the public sector and is aptly titled “Breaking the Glass Ceiling through Coaching and Executive Leadership Programmes for Women in the Public Sector.”

The Issue of the Glass Ceiling in the Public Sector

The term “glass ceiling” refers to an invisible barrier that hinders the career progression of women, leading to significant disparities in pay, job choices, and overall professional prestige. Women in the public sector are often the most affected by this issue, owing to discrimination, limited access to resources, and a lack of supportive networks.

The NSG MasterClass aims to inspire women to shatter the glass ceiling and achieve their full potential in their careers and beyond. The event is not just a one-time discussion; it is part of a larger movement to promote gender equity in the public sector and beyond. By sharing tools, resources, and support, women can be empowered to reach new heights, break down barriers, and create a more inclusive and equitable society for all. As the world continues to evolve and progress, the voices and talents of women in the public sector will be increasingly vital in shaping the future. And this MasterClass is one step closer to ensuring that their potential is fully realized.
