Minister Sihle Zikalala Inspects Delayed Port Shepstone Magistrates Court Construction Site

South Africa’s Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala, has recently visited the stalled construction site of the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court in KwaZulu Natal. The inspection took place on July 22, 2023, as part of Minister Zikalala’s Operation Siyahlola initiative, aimed at overseeing unfinished and obstructed construction projects managed by the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI).

Revitalizing Public Works and Infrastructure Sector

The minister’s agenda includes revitalizing the public works and infrastructure sector, ensuring accountability, and unblocking obstructed projects. The lack of timely completion of the court has negatively affected the local community, hindering efforts towards improved community safety and creating obstacles for citizens seeking justice.
