Additionally, the province is a key contributor to South Africa’s agricultural exports, being the top producer of beetroot, the second-largest producer of sunflower and carrots, and a major exporter of maize.

Furthermore, the Bojanala Special Economic Zone has already attracted fourteen projects worth R13,514 billion, demonstrating the province’s potential for attracting Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs).
The North West Province’s strategic location makes it a gateway to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. The provincial government is in talks with various business entities to revamp the province’s two airports, improving the movement of goods across the region and the continent.
Acting Premier Maloyi emphasized the need to diversify the economy, particularly within the agriculture and tourism sectors, to maintain sustainable growth. The province’s investment forum showcases the abundant potential in its mining, agriculture, and tourism industries, laying the groundwork for a more diversified, resilient economy.
With its wealth of resources, strategic location, and proactive government initiatives, the North West Province is primed to position itself at the forefront of the global investment stage. As the province continues to attract FDIs and forge new partnerships, its future as an economic powerhouse in the region appears to be a promising one.
