The North West Province is committed to accelerating road construction projects to enhance the region’s infrastructure and promote economic growth. Acting Premier Nono Maloyi has pledged to ensure that all road projects meet their deadlines and closely monitor their progress.
Premier Kaobitsa Bushy Maape emphasized the province’s commitment to the rigorous road infrastructure development program, with Nelson Mandela Drive being a priority. Acting Premier Maloyi highlighted that road infrastructure is crucial to the province’s developmental trajectory.
Acting Premier Maloyi visited Nelson Mandela Drive and expressed concern over the slow pace of the road construction project, which was initially supposed to be completed by September this year. Maloyi plans to visit the site on a fortnightly basis and closely monitor other projects to ensure that service providers fulfill their contractual obligations.
MEC for Public Works and Roads, Gaoage Oageng Molapisi, reaffirmed the department’s readiness to prevent any delays in road projects and promised to revisit the project in the next two weeks to see that it is completed on time.
The accelerated service delivery plan demonstrates the government’s dedication to providing better living conditions for citizens by enhancing road infrastructure. By holding contractors accountable and closely monitoring progress, local authorities can ensure that projects align with the province’s developmental goals.
