A unique feature of the program is the establishment of a feedback loop for community members to interact with the government.

Section 1: Thuntsha Lerole: A Ray of Hope

The North West province government is vigorously implementing its lauded Accelerated Service Delivery Programme, Thuntsha Lerole. This innovative initiative, set for the 24th of November, is designed to upgrade the standard of services in the Ratlou Local Municipality, a component of the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, with the aim of improving the lives of the residents. A variety of activities tailored towards different aspects of community living will be conducted under this endeavour, ensuring a comprehensive development plan.

A highlight includes the formal inauguration of the Z482 road, connecting Madibogo and Madibogopan. The transformation of this road from gravel to tar is a significant upgrade that will certainly alleviate transportation difficulties. Concurrently, the Lesego Digital clinic, following substantial renovation, stands ready to reopen its doors to the public.

In an effort to bolster education, the freshly refurbished National School Nutrition Programme kitchen will be transferred to Mmadisebo Primary School in Madibogo. These improved facilities aim to guarantee that every student receives a wholesome meal, thereby enhancing their health and, subsequently, their academic achievements.

Section 2: Supporting Agriculture and Technology

The farming community, notably livestock farmers in Madibogo, will also benefit from this project. As part of the programme, they will receive a livestock handling facility, which is anticipated to streamline their daily operations.

Thuntsha Lerole will also distribute an array of other services. Local school principals will receive cellphones and routers, selected schools and older persons’ clubs will benefit from sporting and recreational equipment, and specific needy families will be provided with agricultural support services. Moreover, the programme includes the registration and updating of local businesses, online application for IDs, and social support services.

The second phase of Thuntsha Lerole is presently being enacted across local municipalities, under the guidance of Patrick Dumile Nono Maloyi, the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements, and Traditional Affairs. He directs this initiative in his role as the Leader of Government Business. The objective of this phase is to upgrade basic infrastructure, monitor and enforce consumer compliance, and reinforce community development services.

Section 3: Ensuring Feedback and Media Involvement

A unique feature of this service delivery programme is the establishment of a feedback loop. A platform for community members to interact with MEC Maloyi and other MECs will be created, facilitating feedback on the progress and efficiency of various service delivery projects and programmes.

Media personnel are cordially invited to attend and report on the planned activities at Ratlou Local Municipality and the subsequent community feedback session. The event is scheduled to take place on the 24th of November, from 08h00 to 16h00 at the Lohatlheng Community Hall, Madibogo village, situated adjacent to the Lesego Digital clinic.

In the current era, when developmental speed is often equated with a region’s progress, initiatives like the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole stand as a testament to the North West provincial government’s dedication to its populace. By taking services to the residents instead of waiting for them to come seeking these services, the government is sending a compelling message: it is here to serve, uplift and, ultimately, improve the lives of its citizens.
