Premier Panyaza Lesufi’s Nasi iSpani Programme: Addressing Unemployment and Promoting Job Opportunities

Premier Panyaza Lesufi, the leader of the Gauteng Provincial Government, has launched a new initiative known as the Nasi iSpani programme. This strategic recruitment drive aims to combat unemployment and promote access to job opportunities within the provincial government. The programme has already advertised thousands of vacancies in a short period.

Allegations of Misconduct

However, there have been allegations of misconduct regarding the programme. Social media has been flooded with voice notes and images claiming that the CVs of some applicants who applied for the advertised vacancies through Nasi iSpani at one of the 22 walk-in centres were discarded and not processed as per the standard recruitment procedure.

Premier Lesufi’s office is currently investigating the source of these videos and images, and appropriate action will be taken upon determining their origin. However, the Premier’s office reassures applicants that all the CVs received through the job portal and at the walk-in centres will be accounted for.

Capturing Process

The various departments and entities are actively engaged in the capturing process, and each applicant will receive a reference number confirming receipt of their application via SMS within the next two weeks. Premier Lesufi further assured applicants who submitted their applications physically that their information had been captured on the register after submitting their applications.

In case any CVs cannot be found, the office will contact the applicants and request them to resubmit before the closing date on July 14, 2023.

Applying for Available Positions

Gauteng residents can apply for the available positions online on https://jobs.gauteng.gov.za/ or https://professionaljobscentre.gpg.gov.za. These platforms provide job seekers with a convenient and efficient method to access the numerous job opportunities offered by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

Promoting Job Opportunities

The Nasi iSpani programme is an important initiative that showcases the government’s commitment to providing its citizens with ample opportunities to find suitable jobs and enhance their quality of life. It represents a significant step towards alleviating unemployment in the Gauteng Province.

It is crucial for the public to remain vigilant against any misinformation circulating on social media and to rely on official channels for accurate information regarding the programme. Media inquiries can be directed to Vuyo Mhaga, Spokesperson for Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, at vuyo.mhaga@gauteng.gov.za or by phone at 0766365193.
