Qbar by Quoin Rock – An Elegant Wine Bar in a Stellenbosch Courtyard

When visiting Stellenbosch, the Qbar by Quoin Rock is a must-visit venue. This elegant wine bar boasts a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, tempting tapas, and delicious cocktails, all in the heart of the town.

Location of Qbar by Quoin Rock

Located in the De Wet Centre courtyard, the Qbar is a quiet oasis away from the traffic. The courtyard is shaded by plane trees and canvas umbrellas, surrounded by marble-topped tables and raw-wood chairs, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine or a pre-dinner drink.

Wine Selection

The Qbar showcases all the wines from the Quoin Rock portfolio, allowing visitors to sample the wine in relaxed quaffing mode. The wines are available by glass or bottle. The knowledgeable staff, including sommeliers, managers, and chefs, are enthusiastic ambassadors for the brand, having trained and worked on the estate.

Tapas Menu at Qbar by Quoin Rock

The tapas menu at Qbar is designed by Executive Chef Jack Coetzee of Gåte Restaurant, passionate about uncomplicated but delicious flavors. Each dish is prepared for sharing and is the perfect complement to one or two wines on the list. The menu will satisfy your cravings, from crispy tempura shimeji mushrooms to sweetcorn dualities with Cape Malay curry dipping sauce.

Cocktail Menu

The Qbar also features a fantastic cocktail menu, with highlights such as a pink Negroni, produced using Knorhoek gins that have been blended with botanicals from the estate and distilled for them by Wilderer. Try the Quoin Rock husk spirit, made by distilling the fermented skins left over from making their vine-dried dessert wine. This spirit may be enjoyed as a digestif.
