Roadshow Helps Victoria Mxenge Residents Obtain Title Deeds

The City of Cape Town’s Human Settlements’ Title Deeds Roadshow has been making its way through Khayelitsha, providing assistance to Victoria Mxenge residents in obtaining the title deeds to their homes. This initiative displays the City’s commitment to empowering its citizens through secure homeownership.

Reaching Out to Residents

City officials urge more residents to attend the informative events when the Roadshow arrives in their areas. The initiative has already reached hundreds of inhabitants in Khayelitsha, including Mandela Park, Kuyasa, Makhaza, Nonkqubela, and Silver Town. The Roadshow benefits both historical beneficiaries and residents of newer RDP projects who have received their title deeds from the City.

Recognition and Future Plans

Alderman James Vos, Acting Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, commends the Human Settlements teams for their outstanding work in contributing to the success of the Roadshow. City officials plan to expand the critical assistance provided by the Roadshow to other metro areas, and eligible residents can expect updates on its arrival.

Milestones

Since 2013, the City has transferred over 12,000 properties in historic developments, resulting in the issuance of title deeds to beneficiaries across the metro. The Roadshow strengthens its reach and impact, allowing more residents to secure their homeownership and enjoy the benefits of possessing a title deed.

Resources Available

For more information on the Roadshow and steps towards homeownership, several resources are available. These include visiting a City Housing Office or calling the Human Settlements Call Centre. These channels serve as invaluable tools for residents in need of guidance and assistance in obtaining their title deeds and securing a brighter future for themselves and their families.

The Title Deeds Roadshow highlights the City’s dedication to uplifting its residents through the provision of secure homeownership. As it continues to make its way across the metro, more families will experience the life-changing benefits of possessing a title deed, reinforcing the importance of the Roadshow’s mission in empowering an ever-growing number of residents.
