One influential figure acknowledged for his efforts was George Kruger from Victoria Park NW in Somerset West. His six nominations were an irrefutable reflection of his steadfast dedication to his community. His notable contributions ranged from organizing youth programs to assisting in flood and fire relief activities, animal rescue operations, and crucially, crime prevention patrols. The extent of Kruger’s devotion to his community led him to receive the ‘NW Member of the Year’ award, a distinction bestowed to a member who has used extraordinary efforts to protect their members and properties.
Sharing the spotlight with Kruger was Elsabe Peterson from Extreme NW, another unsung heroine who was bestowed the ‘Inspiration of the Year’ award.
