The income restrictions are stringent, and the grant is not applicable to more than six non-legally adopted or biological children within a family. Interestingly, the CSG also extends to individuals over 18, as long as they are currently enrolled in high school.

SRD Grant Processing Dates

For those relying on the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, Sassa has planned to process the payments from the 18th to the 22nd of December.

Convenient Methods to Access Funds

Sassa grant beneficiaries can access their funds through a variety of convenient methods, including bank accounts, retail outlets such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer stores, Usave stores, OK and Checkers, and mobile cash pay points.

No Need to Rush Withdrawals

Sassa reminds beneficiaries that there is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day of disbursement. The money will remain in the account until it is needed, offering peace of mind for beneficiaries during a potentially stressful period.

Sassa’s Crucial Role

Sassa’s role in managing grants and providing financial assistance to South African society’s most vulnerable members is invaluable.
