South Africa’s Spar Proteas have had a thrilling start at the Netball World Cup, securing victories against Wales and Sri Lanka in their Pool C matches. In a sold-out arena, fans cheered passionately for the home team, who displayed exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the game.

A dominant performance

The Spar Proteas took an early lead, with Elmeré van der Berg and Nichole Taljaard forming a powerful duo in the first quarter. By half-time, they had extended their lead to 45-18, with van der Berg successfully making 28 of her 31 goal attempts. Despite Sri Lanka’s valiant efforts, the South African team’s flawless coordination, precise passing, and aggressive offense sealed their overwhelming victory.
