South Africa’s national rugby team, the Springboks, experienced a lackluster performance in their final Rugby Championship match against Argentina at Ellis Park. Although they managed a narrow 22-21 victory over Michael Cheek’s Argentina, the team concluded their 2023 Rugby Championship campaign in less than ideal fashion.
To prepare for the upcoming match in Argentina, head coach Jacques Nienaber has chosen a squad primarily consisting of World Cup hopefuls while giving the majority of the first-choice players a chance to rest. Backs: Damian de Allende (centre), Faf de Klerk (scrumhalf), Cheslin Kolbe (wing), Willie le Roux (fullback), Handre Pollard (flyhalf), and Grant Williams (scrumhalf).
