SuperSport United Signs Phathutshedzo Nange from Kaizer Chiefs

SuperSport United has made a significant acquisition by securing the services of Phathutshedzo Nange, the recently released Kaizer Chiefs midfielder. The signing of Nange is a positive step for the team as he brings not only talent but also familiarity with SuperSport United’s coach, Gavin Hunt.

Nange’s Contract with Kaizer Chiefs

Nange’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs was due to expire on June 30th, but the club announced his departure a week before that date. Nange quickly signed with SuperSport United, reuniting with Coach Hunt. The two had worked together previously at Bidvest Wits, where they developed a strong working relationship.

Working Relationship with Gavin Hunt

At Bidvest Wits, Nange and Hunt worked alongside notable players like Thulani Hlatshwayo and Ricardo Goss. Goss, who is currently on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, may also return to SuperSport United for a second spell in the upcoming season. This possibility further heightens the anticipation surrounding the team’s future performance.

Departure from Kaizer Chiefs

Nange’s departure from Kaizer Chiefs was not a surprise, given his limited game time under Coach Arthur Zwane last season. Following his move from Stellenbosch FC in 2021, Nange only participated in 31 competitive matches for the Chiefs, scoring just two goals.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Mass Exodus

Kaizer Chiefs have also released Erick Mathoho, while Siyabonga Ngezana was sold to Romanian giants Fotbal Club FCSB for a reported fee of R12 million. These departures indicate significant changes taking place within the club as they aim to revamp their roster.

Optimism Surrounding SuperSport United

As SuperSport United and their fans eagerly await an official announcement regarding Nange’s signing, there is a palpable sense of optimism surrounding the team. The midfielder’s previous experience with Coach Hunt suggests that their on-field chemistry will be rekindled, possibly leading to an enhanced performance from both parties. Furthermore, Nange’s skill set may inject new life into the team’s overall strategy, allowing for dynamic and innovative gameplay.

The addition of Phathutshedzo Nange to SuperSport United’s line-up is a significant boost for the club. His history with Coach Gavin Hunt and impressive talent may propel the team to new heights in the coming season. As fans and players alike anticipate the official announcement, excitement for the future of SuperSport United continues to grow.
