The Great Youth Day Bake Off: A Celebration of Creativity and Inclusivity

In Cape Town, a unique event is taking place to celebrate Youth Day. The non-profit organization Be MyVoice has organized a baking competition called The Great Youth Day Bake Off. The event is specifically designed for special needs youth. The Great Youth Day Bake Off highlights the creativity and talents of these young participants. Event Details

The Great Youth Day Bake Off will welcome 100 special needs youth, along with their facilitators and caregivers, at the Athlone Civic Centre on 16th June 2023. With 2000 cookies, 400 cupcakes, and 250 waffles pre-baked, these young aspiring bakers will have the opportunity to showcase their amazing cookie-glazing skills. The event promises to be a memorable experience for attendees, with an atmosphere filled with excitement and fanfare.

A Welcoming Atmosphere

Upon arrival, participants will be greeted with a red carpet entrance, complete with enthusiastic applause, sea cadet escorts, entertaining characters, and vibrant balloons. The entire gathering encourages the participants to bring their zeal as they prepare to bake up a storm.

The Mastermind Behind Be MyVoice

The mastermind behind the Be MyVoice organization is 15-year-old Joshua Sandy, who lives with autism. With the support of his parents, Joshua created the organization to raise awareness and provide education on autism spectrum disorder within the disadvantaged communities of South Africa. By hosting events like The Great Youth Day Bake Off, Be MyVoice aims to break down barriers and foster understanding among the people of Cape Town and beyond.
