Teams and Format

A total of 10 teams will grace the field in the World Cup, with the first eight already securing their spots through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two positions will be determined by the conclusion of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe on July 9. The round-robin format ensures that each team faces the other nine, with the top four advancing to the knockout stage and semi-finals.

Other Noteworthy Matches

Other noteworthy matches include India’s clash with 2019 semi-finalists Australia and the much-hyped India-Pakistan face-off on October 15 in Ahmedabad. Fans can also look forward to Pakistan’s match against Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru and England’s encounter with South Africa the following day in Mumbai.

Redemption and Revenge

India seeks redemption against New Zealand on October 22 in Dharamsala, following their 2019 semi-final defeat. Meanwhile, Australia will confront arch-rivals England on November 4 in Ahmedabad, hoping to exact revenge for their crushing defeat in the previous edition’s semi-final.

India has a score to settle with England as well, with the two teams meeting on October 29 in Lucknow. This match offers India an opportunity to avenge their loss in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final.
