The Milk Restaurant and Bar: Khayelitsha’s Swanky Spot

Pop the corks and raise a glass. The Milk Restaurant and Bar is back in business after Covid-19 shut its doors two years ago. This buzzing lifestyle venue in Khayelitsha has re-opened with a fresh new look and many of the old faces. Thirty-five staff members who had been retrenched are back on duty and ready to welcome patrons.

Bringing Fine Dining to the Township

Opened in 2018, The Milk Restaurant and Bar were one of the first restaurants aimed at bringing a fine-dining experience “to the township, for the township.” The three-level building soon became a social hotspot and tourist attraction, a place for business meetings and downtime chilling with friends.

An Unbeatable Rooftop Lounge-Bar

The three-story venue’s most significant drawcard is the rooftop lounge bar, the place to sip on whisky, cognac, champagne, and sophisticated cocktails with panoramic views over greater Cape Town – not to mention superb sunset-painted skies.

A Range of Dishes to Suit All Tastes

The restaurant downstairs serves various dishes to appeal to the stylish mix of patrons, from linefish of the day with fennel purée and seafood pasta to sirloin with roasted bone marrow, gourmet burgers, BBQ wings, and breakfast grills.

A Complete Experience

The Milk Restaurant and Bar is not just a place to eat and drink, and it’s a complete experience. The venue significantly contributes to the community, mainly youth and women from the area, who are now back on duty and ready to provide exceptional customer service to the visitors.

A Must-Visit for a Safe Kasi Groove Vibe

The Milk Restaurant and Bar is a must-visit if you’re looking for a safe kasi groove vibe. The staff is intuitive, and they take pictures of the guests on request. The venue is clean and beautiful. They have live music, great cocktails, and also offer late-night food.

The Best Place to Be in Khayelitsha

The Milk Restaurant and Bar is a perfect space in Khayelitsha, with nice vibes and friendly staff. It’s the best place to be in Khayelitsha and pretty affordable. Even though there is a need to improve customer service and the time taken to make the food, the restaurant is still a gem in the townships, well worth it.
