Football fans eagerly anticipate the summer transfer window, monitoring star movements and scouring the internet for updates. OLBG, a sports betting community, recently conducted a study on the most searched Premier League players on Google in 2023. The following article presents the top 10 most popular players and their regional popularity.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Tottenham Hotspur’s star player, Harry Kane, leads the pack with over 143,000 monthly searches. The England captain’s popularity extends beyond London to cities such as Brighton, Portsmouth, and Southampton. Kane is the only Spurs player to feature in the top 20 most searched Premier League stars.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s prolific striker, is a close second with over 138,000 monthly searches. His arrival at Man City and the club’s treble triumph have kept the spotlight on him. Interestingly, Haaland’s popularity is regionally polarizing, dominating search engines in the North, including Manchester, Sheffield, Blackburn, and Blackpool.

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool)

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez takes third place with over 115,000 monthly searches. His name has been heavily searched in cities such as Wrexham, Lancaster, Bradford, and Belfast.

Jack Grealish (Manchester City)

Manchester City’s Jack Grealish is fourth on the list, with over 110,000 monthly searches. He remains a hot topic in Birmingham, Durham, and Worcester.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford ranks fifth with over 87,000 monthly searches. He is the second-most searched player in Manchester, behind Haaland.

Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Mason Mount (Chelsea), and Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) complete the top ten list.

Notably, Chelsea and Arsenal have the most players featured in the top 20, with four players each. Manchester United and Liverpool each have two players featured.

Other notable players in the top 20 include Declan Rice (West Ham), Ivan Toney (Brentford), Dele Alli (Everton), and Jesse Lingard (Nottingham Forest).
