The Fan Park has attracted approximately 40,716 people since its gates opened on Friday, 28 July 2023, and will remain open daily until Sunday, 6 August 2023.

Besides watching the games on large screens, visitors can enjoy live performances by local artists, captivating netball exhibition games, a dedicated kids’ corner, a food court, daily giveaways, and a bustling beer garden.

Alderman JP Smith, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, emphasized the Fan Park’s goal of providing access to those who cannot afford tickets while also offering a safe environment for guests to enjoy entertainment, games, and art for 12 hours a day.

Supporting the Growth of Young Talents

The Fan Park also marks the apex of the City-sponsored Sporting Chance Street Netball Programme, which has fostered the growth of 760 under-13 girls from eight local communities. These young talents have had the chance to witness the Netball World Cup games firsthand, furthering their passion for the sport.

The Official Viewing Area

The Fan Park is the official viewing area for the Netball World Cup Cape Town 2023. Operating from 7 am daily until the conclusion of the last game of the day, this unique space offers spectators an extraordinary experience to enjoy the tournament’s action.
