City Officials Excited for the Return of Rugby to Athlone Stadium

Alderman James Vos, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, expressed his excitement at the opportunity to host more rugby matches at Athlone Stadium. He also wished the participating teams, especially South Africa, the best of luck as they compete in the championship.

The World Rugby U20 Championship 2023 coincides with school holidays, making it an ideal opportunity for parents, caregivers, and children to attend matches on July 4, 9, and 14 at Athlone Stadium. Alderman JP Smith, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, encouraged support for the under 20 South African team and local businesses in the area.
