Views + Seafood for the Soul

If you’re looking for a dining experience that offers stunning views of the ocean and a menu inspired by the sea, then GINJA Restaurant in Cape Town is a must-visit destination.

Location and Views

Situated on the water’s edge, the restaurant boasts an idyllic location that affords breathtaking views of the pierhead and Table Mountain. As a visitor to GINJA, I was blown away by the stunning views and the relaxed, casual atmosphere that was perfect for an afternoon drink at the bar.

Exciting Menu

But what really sets GINJA apart is their updated menu, which features exciting seafood dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Signature Dishes

The signature tempura-battered hake with citrus aioli, peas, and hand-cut fries is still a fan favorite, and the Prawn Special is a kilogram of chilli-and-garlic queen prawns served with toasted ciabatta, hand-cut fries, a table salad, and a bottle of Iona Sauvignon Blanc – simply delicious!

New Main Courses

If you’re looking for something new, GINJA’s menu also boasts scrumptious new main courses like the creamy fish curry with coconut rice, grilled sesame-glazed salmon, and calamari grilled in a garlic and chilli sauce.

Vegetarian Options

Vegetarians will be pleased to know that GINJA also offers a range of meat-free meals that are equally delicious.

Atmosphere

But GINJA isn’t just about the food – it’s also about the atmosphere. The warm wood panelling, beautiful bonsai trees, and soft lighting throughout the restaurant create an understated yet chic ambiance that’s perfect for a romantic evening out or a relaxed family dinner.

Delicious Desserts

And for those with a sweet tooth, there’s no shortage of delicious desserts to choose from, including the Cape-inspired Falooda yoghurt panna cotta with vanilla ice cream or the chocolate fondant with peanuts, marshmallow ice cream, and strawberry jam.

But, it’s the crème brûlée with its berry gelato and chocolate ganache on biscotti topped with the sweetest of edible flowers that stole my heart.

Overall, my experience at GINJA Restaurant was nothing short of amazing. From the friendly and helpful staff to the delicious food and stunning views, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cape Town, and don’t forget to try the prawn special and calamari – they’re simply to die for!

Working Hours

Due to the current situation, GINJA Restaurant has shortened its working hours. The restaurant is now open from 12 pm to 9 pm daily.
