The Vodacom Bulls have made an exciting acquisition, signing Willie le Roux from the Japanese team, the Toyota Verblitz. As a seasoned Springbok veteran and World Cup-winning backline player, Le Roux’s arrival promises to bolster the Bulls’ strength for the upcoming campaigns.
Since his debut in 2013, Le Roux has been a constant presence in the national camp. In 2014, he was nominated for the world player of the year award due to his tactical expertise in managing the game and adept counter-attacking skills.
Edgar Rathbone, BBCo CEO, is enthusiastic about Le Roux joining the team. Rathbone believes that Le Roux’s experience and status as a world-class player will benefit the Bulls’ stable, particularly in adding stability to the team’s backline. The Bulls aspire to assemble a squad that can not only challenge but also claim victory while providing entertaining rugby for their fans. Le Roux is the perfect fit for this vision, and the team’s confidence in his versatility is expected to be well-received by all fans.
Le Roux will play for the Springboks in their match against Australia, scheduled for Saturday, July 8, at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, South Africa. His arrival at Loftus for the Bulls will follow after the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup campaign.
The match’s referee will be New Zealand’s Ben O’Keeffe, with assistant referees Paul Williams (New Zealand) and Andrea Piardi (Italy) joining him on the field. Brendon Pickerill (New Zealand) will serve as the TMO.
Aside from the Rugby Championship, fans are also anticipating the reveal of the Springboks’ new Rugby World Cup kit. The design, featuring the iconic green and gold colors, showcases the national team’s pride and dedication as they pursue victory on the world stage. The Bulls’ management and supporters wish Le Roux and the Springboks the best of luck in their upcoming matches.
