Zakes Bantwini’s Historic Abantu Concert: A Celebration of Art and Culture

Grammy Award-winning musician Zakes Bantwini recently announced the date for his highly anticipated Abantu concert. The concert, set to take place on October 28th, will make history as the first local performance to headline a concert at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium.

A Star-Studded Media Launch

Cape Town’s mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, joined Bantwini and members of the national media in the stadium’s business lounge to celebrate this momentous occasion. During the media launch, Bantwini expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with Mayor Hill-Lewis and the City of Cape Town. He also hinted at an impressive line-up yet to be unveiled.

An International Act and Final Album Release

As anticipation builds for the Abantu concert, fans eagerly await the announcement of a surprise international act. Bantwini teased that this act would be among the most historic ever featured in a local concert, adding another layer of intrigue to the already buzzworthy event. Additionally, Bantwini is set to release his final album, “Abantu,” though the release date remains a mystery.

Collaboration with Aline Talent Agency

Just a day before the Abantu concert announcement, Bantwini, Boity, and Nomcebo Zikode signed with a new talent agency, Aline. The agency represents storytellers who “shape culture” and “accelerates their growth through deepening connections with consumers and forging partnerships across entertainment and media as we position our clients for success.” Aline aims to support and nurture its clients, ensuring a bright future for African talent.
