The launch of the zero-rated platforms took place on September 4, 2023, and allows clients to access UIF services at no cost and from any location.

The introduction of the mobile app and USSD platform is aimed at enhancing self-service for clients, alleviating pressure on labor center officials, and shortening queues. The Commissioner of UIF, Teboho Maruping, believes that the new platforms will save clients time and money they would have otherwise spent on transportation to labor centers.

How to Access the Services

To access the new platforms, clients can dial 134843# on their cellular phones or download the mobile app from Google Play Store, App Store for iOS, or Huawei App Store. With the new platforms, clients can submit payment continuations, check their claim and payment status, and verify their UIF registration status.
