The South African Employment and Labour Ministry, led by Thulas Nxesi and Boitumelo Moloi, is gearing up to address the Chatsworth community and surrounding areas during a roadshow session on Thursday, 31 August 2023. The Employment Equity Amendments
The Employment Equity Amendments were authorized into law by President Ramaphosa in April 2023. The Ministerial program is part of the Department’s Employment Equity (EE) national roadshows held under the theme: “Real transformation makes business sense.” The EE Amendments aim to reduce the regulatory burden for small businesses and empower the Minister to regulate sector-specific numerical EE targets.
Community Services
Additionally, the roadshow will provide departmental services such as Public Employment Services, Compensation Fund (compensation for occupational injuries and diseases), and Unemployment Insurance Fund on-site. The Ministerial visit will be preceded by an EE workshop held on Wednesday, 30 August 2023 at Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani 63 Snell Parade, North Beach, Durban.
