The annual Neighbourhood Watch (NW) Awards, initiated by the City’s Safety and Security Directorate, are currently open for nominations. The awards commend the unwavering commitment and diligence of accredited individuals and NW teams throughout the metropolis in their quest to maintain and enhance community safety.

Submitting Nominations

Nominations are open from September 11, 2023, and will close on October 8, 2023. Communities are encouraged to submit their candidates for recognition.

Acknowledging Selfless Individuals and Groups

The NW Awards are an exceptional occasion to shine a spotlight on the individuals and groups who devote their time and energy to protect their communities. By acknowledging their essential role in collaborating with the City’s enforcement agencies and other vital services, the NW Awards emphasize the importance of unity in safeguarding society.

Award Categories

An array of categories for nominations ensures a comprehensive representation of the diverse talents and skills of the NW members. The individual award categories include NW Member of the Year, Organisational Excellence, Mobiliser of the Year, Inspiration of the Year, Crime Fighter of the Year, and Courage in Action.

Moreover, group award categories include NW Group of the Year, Situational Crime Prevention Award, Social Responsibility Award, and Courage in Action Award.

Awards Ceremony

The much-anticipated Awards Ceremony will take place at the Council Chambers in the Civic Centre on November 18, 2023.
